We. Are. Borderlines.

But we weren't always.

So how did we get here? Why don't we tell you a little story...

'Basic' Beginnings

Small batch craft beer brewed in our tiny brewery in Meon Vale, Warwickshire

May 2020

This story begins with a plastic bucket and homebrew kit.

Curious to see if it was possible to actually make beer at home and with a bit of spare time on our hands (didn't we all) we decided to throw a load of smelly syrupy stuff (technical term: Malt Extract) into a bucket full of water (technical term: Liqour), throw in a bit of yeast, leave it for a bit (technical term: Fermentation) to see what happens.

A couple of weeks later we threw it all into some bottles with a bit of brewing sugar (technical term: Racking), left it for another couple of weeks then set about drinking the lot.

'Next Level' Homebrew

September 2020

It didn't take long before our homebrewing journey took it's step into proper beer brewing (technical term: all grain) with the purchase of an all-in-one home brewing system.

First beer made? A DDH Pale Ale. Course it was. Went a bit over the top though and it ended up tasting like a thick grassy soup. Nevertheless we pressed on to a NEIPA. My my that was a good looking beer. Tasted GREAT too and thankfully didn't last long enough to 'go grey' (technical term: Oxidisation).

Brew beer. Much More Beer.

2021

Mid January and with the hangover of Christmas a fading memory it was time to fire up the all-in-one once more for brew 5 (already, we know!).

2021 brought different beer style and different serving styles. It ended with porters, stouts, lagers, IPA's and even ciders ticked off the list and a brand new 6 line (4 draught, 2 hand pull) mobile bar sitting proudly in the garage, ready for it's debut in the kitchen over Christmas!

2021 was also the year when the 'do you know, you should try and sell this stuff' conversations started. Oh gawd!

Getting ready to do this properly

2022

Time to start to think about how to do this properly.

Now we knew it was going to take a LOT of patience and a LOT of hard work. It's also going to need some purdy darn tasty beer. So what were our 2022 priorities? Yeah that's right, lets get those beers tidied up and tasting great.

Loadsa brews later we brought 2022 to a close with 6 tasty beers on tap in the kitchen and a new years eve spent with a total burning desire to get this thing goin'

Here goes nothing

2023

Well. Here we are then. Time to get real. Put up or shut up time. Time to do the grown up stuff! Lets crack on.

Just a small case of converting the garage into an acceptable commercial brewing space, registering the business, getting personal licences sorted, securing brewing licences, getting AWRS registered, food hygiene training, registering as a food business, telling people we're actually here and have beer to buy. Also time to see if we can get a premises licence to sell the stuff from home (is that even a thing? Guess we'll find out).

Oh and test a few new recipes in the meantime before actually starting to brew up the stuff we want you to drink.

Did we say we work full time too? Woooof.

S'gonna be busy! Watch this space.
