Say 'hello' to Juicebox
With an inviting dark haze and deep tropical fruit notes this one off Hazy DDH Pale Ale is a beer is a must try. At 5.8% we're not sure we'll be recommending getting 'on the sesh' with it though!
When we set out to launch Borderlines Brewing we wanted to produce a nice sessionable IPA (check), a nice sesisonable APA (check), a nice sessionable pale ale (kind of check) and a 'big hitter' beer.
The 'big hitter' wasn't quite ready for launch day but we're really hoping it was worth the wait. This new beer from Borderlines Brewing comes in at 5.8% so pushes the boundaries of the term 'sessionable' and in fact we would recommend just the one to give it a try rather than several over the course of an evening. Any more and we're pretty sure it will knock you for six.
This is a stronger beer but we don't particularly intend to get into producing stronger beers as a general rule. Our aim is to produce great sessionable beers however with the launch of our tiny little brewery we could resist giving this a go, aiming for an 'around 6% beer' we managed to get pretty close. It's our own creation and is a little different to your traditional bright hazy beers. The addition of the Vienna malt has brought the colour much closer to a traditional pale ale but with the adage of a 'modern' haze thanks to the use of oats.
The result is quite a seasonally dark hazy beer that is full of deep tropical fruit flavours and aromas. There is no bitterness to this beer so there is every chance you will forget that is what you are drinking.
There is no desperate need to drink this one ice cold. In fact to get the best out of this beer we would recommend just a nice chill in the fridge for a couple of hours before drinking.
Give it a go while you can, it will only be available once!
