We're absolutely delighted to be able to bring you some more fresh small batch craft beer this week. The big news? It's not ours! Wooohaaaaaaat!!?? We know crazy right?! But there is a reason to our madness!
Why guest beers? Shouldn't you be plugging your own?
Well we've got a jolly lovely online beer store going on here. We're really proud of what we've built and are really chuffed with the beers we've got on sale but lets be honest with each other, there is not a lot going on in it is there? Try as we might we figured it's unlikely we'll ever be able to fill it properly with lovely tasting Borderlines beer. The simple fact is we just can't brew enough quickly enough. So, with that in mind, we decided it would be a good idea to thrown in some totally awesome guest beers too.
You see friends, the craft beer industry is absolutely thriving in the UK right now and there are thousands, literally thousands of craft breweries dotted up and down the country. We'd take an educated guess that you've probably not heard of a good 95% of them either!
Distribution further than their local pubs or bottle shops can be tricky and frankly just not worth it financially so their beers rarely make it out of their local town. We think that is a ruddy tragedy! So what are we going to do about it? Well we're going to put them in our beer store of course! Right there and available for you to buy no matter where you live around the UK.
Now we're not blessed with oodles of cash to stock the beer store from the get go here at Borderlines HQ. We're going to have to adopt a 'steady as you go' approach to this - adding beers as and when the funds allow.
Thankfully though you thirst bunch have put enough money in the pot for us to get this thing going in ernst and so our first guest beers are now available to pre-order from the beer store, ready to be dispatched from Thursday 28th September.
Who are they from then?
Well they're from Horsforth Brewery, a little (but not as little as us!) brewery based up that there north in Leeds.
We chose a Leeds based brewery to start our guest beer journey because we thought you may know enough about the local beers available around these here parts of the shires and so figured further afield was a good place to get going. Leeds is Oli's home turf and it has a thriving craft beer scene, so it really seemed to make sense to start there.
Horsforth Brewery is only a couple of miles away from where Oli grew up and is a great success story, starting in a garage in 2017 it has now progressed to a dedicated taproom and much larger dedicated brewery in the heart of Horsforth. They also make some pretty nice beer too!
So, if you've already tried our beers and are ready to go again or if you're just about to take the plunge why not treat yourself and add a couple of guesties to your order to really mix things up.
We'll hopefully be adding some more beers from small Leeds based breweries in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled for more wonderfully tasting beer heading your way soon!
